In 2015, the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Extension began developing its Advanced Certificate in Leadership. Leadership Fundamentals was the first course developed out of a total of six in the program. Russ Pierozinski, the course instructor, sought to design a leadership course that inspired students. The course explored real-world authentic case studies, engaged students in meaningful discussions relevant to their own lived and learned experience, provided a space for reflection and role modelled effective leadership.
Collaborate with the course instructor to:
- Articulate course goals
- Structure course including topic and sequencing of modules
- Develop course schedule
- Design and develop units of learning (including: learning objectives, instructional and assessment strategies, and grading rubrics)
- Write and develop content

Design and develop marketing materials
