The Faculty of Education’s preservice teacher education program underwent a program review by undergraduate students. In 2008, 150 faculty members joined together at their fall professional development retreat to rethink the design of this program. I was invited to help plan and facilitate this process.
- Research undergraduate teacher education programs producing most employable graduates
- Identify defining elements/characteristics (curricular framework) of successful programs
- Use literature review as starting point to approach program redesign
- Work with the planning committee to organize faculty retreat
- Select and structure participant activities to support redesign process
- Design and develop participant guides
- Facilitate event
