In 2008, a new academic director was appointed at the Centre of Teaching and Learning (formerly University Teaching Services) at the U of A. To better support academic staff, the Centre for Teaching and Learning underwent a complete overhaul of its services and programs. The challenge – to make teaching and learning on campus sexy again!
- Along with the Academic Director, meet with department chairs to identify top teaching and learning needs across campus
- Observe and evaluate current workshop offerings to determine how services can be improved
- Articulate new vision for the centre and identify key programs and services
- Ensure centre’s vision, programs and services support University’s strategic goals
- Develop curriculum framework
- Design, develop and deliver new programs and services
- Rebrand and market the Centre for Teaching and Learning, including: identity development, website redesign, development of promotional materials, etc.
- Advise departments and faculty members on issues pertaining to program development, design and e-learning
- Actively serve on teaching and learning committees throughout campus
