Centre for Teaching and Learning

In 2008, a new academic director was appointed at the  Centre of Teaching and Learning (formerly University Teaching Services)  at the U of A.  To better support academic staff, the Centre for Teaching and Learning underwent a complete overhaul of its services and programs. The challenge – to make teaching and learning on campus sexy again!

  • My Role
  • Along with the Academic Director, meet with department chairs to identify top teaching and learning needs across campus
  • Observe and evaluate current workshop offerings to determine how services can be improved
  • Articulate new vision for the centre and identify key programs and services
  • Ensure centre’s vision, programs and services support University’s strategic goals
  • Develop curriculum framework
  • Design, develop and deliver new programs and services
  • Rebrand and market the Centre for Teaching and Learning, including: identity development, website redesign, development of promotional materials, etc.
  • Advise departments and faculty members on issues pertaining to program development, design and e-learning
  • Actively serve on teaching and learning committees throughout campus
